Seeing a doctor

Seeing a doctor

Making an appointment with a doctor

Most doctors' surgeries have several doctors of both sexes and you can usually ask to see any of them.

You will usually need to make an appointment to see a doctor but you may have to wait a day or two.

If your problem is urgent you must tell the doctors' receptionist so you can have an appointment for emergency treatment sooner.

You can make an appointment by telephone but you will have to go to the surgery to see the doctor. The doctor will only visit you if you can't leave your home because you are too ill.

If you, or one of your friends, are seriously ill or injured, call an ambulance
