We offer a meet and greet service at the start of each academic year for our international students. This service is free and you must book in advance.
Please book your place on the meet and greet service by Wednesday 5 September, bookings made after this date cannot be guaranteed.
This year's dates are:
- Tuesday 11 September
- Friday 14 September
- Saturday 15 September
If you fit into one of the these categories, you must arrive and book onto the Tuesday 11 September pick up.
- MA students studying at our Buxton Campus
- Exchange students
- Students with disabilities
We will be picking up from these airports only:
- Heathrow Airport
- Birmingham International Airport
- Manchester International Airport (this is the closest airport to our Buxton Campus)
- East Midlands Airport
Book your place on the meet and greet service
If you are not using the meet and greet service please let us know when you are arriving in the UK so that we can contact you and support you in your journey to the University.
If you are making your own way to Derby or Buxton, you can find out more about public transport and travel in the UK here.
Please remember, we have two campuses, one in Derby and one in Buxton. Please check which campus you are studying at, so that you travel to the correct campus when you arrive in the UK.

Accommodation
It is important that you book your accommodation in advance, so that you have somewhere to stay when you arrive in Derby or Buxton as it can be difficult to find this when you are here.
We have our own halls of residence, and can also help you to find private accommodation. For more information you can call our accommodation team on +44 (0)1332 594111.
For 2012 there are also rooms available at Derby Conference Centre. This accommodation is located just outside Derby city centre and consists of single rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. To book a room at the Derby Conference Centre call +44 (0)1332 861851, and ask for self catered accommodation in India House.
