International Recruitment Officer (Europe)
I am responsible for recruiting students and building international partnerships in the EU, Sub-Saharan Africa and Eurasia, managing the University's International Student Scholarships fund and also Erasmus Lifelong Learning Project. I also support my colleagues in the Partnership Office, Admissions and the Online Distance Learning team.
What I can help with
- Recruiting international students from the EU, Sub-Saharan Africa and Eurasia
- Representing the University at Education UK exhibitions and agent fairs
- Making partnership visits to schools, colleges and universities in EU, Sub-Saharan Africa and Eurasia
- Giving presentations and seminars to raise the profile of the University
- Recruiting and managing agents
- Answering questions about overseas qualifications, institutions and education systems, international fees, visas and immigration, UK Border Agency Regulations relating to working in the UK and welfare issues relevant to overseas students
- Answering questions about and setting up bilateral agreements with Erasmus partners, what Erasmus funding is available for students and academics and providing information about our current partners.
My background
I am from Wales originally though my mother is African from Mauritius. I am a graduate of the University of Bedfordshire in Business Information Technology.
I have been at the University for 13 years, 11 of which have been spent in the International Office in its various guises; during that period of time I have carried out welfare, induction and admissions as well as my current role so have a broad knowledge in the international student sector.
