Learning Beyond Registration
Learning Beyond Registration (LBR) is a vital part of developing competent, capable health service practitioners prepared to deliver a dynamic, flexible, quality, client-focused service. If you're employed by the NHS in the East Midlands then you may be eligible for fee-free access to our LBR modules and/or programmes. You'll need to supply evidence of approval from your line manager and Trust Education Lead when you apply.
About this module
In the current climate of todays health and social care delivery system practitioners are required to use evidence based practice. The Independent Study will give the you the opportunity to investigate in detail a chosen area of practice relevant to your profession.
The module will consolidate knowledge of the research process and methodology, and enable you to transfer these skills to investigate, critically evaluate and reflect on aspects of practice within your chosen speciality.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the Independent Scholarship you will be able to:
- Demonstrate a masters level of research competence through personal experience of a substantive piece of research, or through a dissertation.
- Demonstrate an awareness of the social, psychological, and ethical dimensions of your study.
- Present a clear, written recording of the process undertaken, together with presentation of any appropriate data.
- Evaluate the outcomes of inductive and/or deductive analysis with regard to the material under consideration.
