Jo Hutchinson is Principal Researcher (Young People) of the International Centre for Guidance Studies. Jo is a professional social science researcher who has managed numerous research, evaluation, strategy development and consultation projects throughout her career. Her clients include government departments, national and regional agencies, and local authorities. At iCeGS she is responsible for developing, delivering and overseeing all research activities, and the work of iCeGS' research teams.
With a background in economic and community development, Jo's research interests include socially excluded, or NEET, young people, factors affecting choices and experiences of transition, Connexions services, and equality and diversity perspectives. She is currently working on projects associated with the STEM agenda, application of ICT in professional practice, equality and diversity in careers work, corporate careers and evaluations of European projects.  Jo is also Chair of the University of Derby research ethics committee.
