The Blueprint for Careers
14 March 2012
iCeGS is working with the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) to develop the Blueprint for Careers. The Blueprint for Careers is a document that individuals can use to help them to manage their approach to life, learning and work. Career is a central concept in a person's life: it is the place where personal decisions impact on society and the economy; it is also the place where learning interacts with work and life. The Blueprint for Careers builds upon international best practice, and has been developed to represent a distinctive approach to career management. The Blueprint for careers is designed to be used in schools, in colleges, in universities, in the workplace, in voluntary groups and by those who are not currently in work. People's ability to manage their career can help them in making transitions between life roles and so can support both social inclusion and social mobility.
