Researching the Aimhigher Greater Manchester Graduate Officer

21 June 2011

Aimhigher Greater Manchester

As part of the previous Government's widening participation policy 'Aimhigher' was tasked with raising participation in UK higher education - particularly among students who traditionally might not have considered university as an option.

As part of its approach, the Aimhigher partnership in Greater Manchester employed a team of 9 graduate officers whose remit was to ensure that learners received appropriate information, and advice services to support their career decision making.

Aimhigher Greater Manchester commissioned iCeGS to evaluate the programme and to highlight good practice, identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for the future.

The resulting report will be of interest to any organisation wishing to develop the role of para-professionals working in the field of career information and advice particularly within the new and emerging arrangements for the delivery of CEIAG in schools, colleges and work-based training organisations.

The report, 'Moore, N., Christopoulos, M., Dimitriou, K. & Hutchinson, J. (2011) Researching the Aimhigher Greater Manchester Graduate Officer Programme.' is available by clicking on the title.
