How do boys and girls in Wales form ideas about work and what jobs they want as they grow up, and what ages do these ideas develop?
At what ages to these ideas develop and how do they change in the ten years between the foundation phase and the age when decisions about post-compulsory education are made?

Chwarae Teg has commissioned research from two research centres at the Universities of Derby and Aberystwyth who specialise in research about career decision making and education and lifelong learning.  Researchers from both universities will be conducting research activities and talking to children between the ages of 5 and 7 and young people between the ages of 14 and 16. In addition community stakeholders and parents will be asked for their views using telephone interviews and an online survey.

The results of the research will be published by Chwarae Teg and presented to policy and decision makers in order to inform discussions about future educational provision.   For more information about any aspect of this project please contact the research director Jo Hutchinson at j.hutchinson@derby.ac.uk

Sut y mae bechgyn a merched yng Nghymru yn ffurfio syniadau wrth iddyn nhw dyfu am waith a'r swyddi yr hoffent eu cael, a pha oed y mae'r syniadau hyn yn datblygu?
Pa oed y mae'r syniadau hyn yn datblygu a sut y maen nhw'n newid yn ystod y deng mlynedd rhwng y cyfnod sylfaen a'r oed y gwneir penderfyniadau ynglŷn ag addysg ôl-orfodol?

Mae Chwarae Teg wedi comisiynu ymchwil gan ddwy ganolfan ymchwil ym Mhrifysgolion Derby ac Aberystwyth sy'n arbenigo mewn ymchwil ynghylch penderfyniadau gyrfaol ac addysg a dysgu gydol oes.  Bydd ymchwilwyr o'r ddwy brifysgol yn cynnal ymchwil ac yn siarad â phlant rhwng 5 a 7 oed a phobl ifainc rhwng 14 a 16 oed. Ar ben hyn gofynnir i randdeiliaid yn y gymuned a rhieni am eu barn trwy ddefnyddio cyfweliadau ffôn ac arolwg ar-lein.
