Careers guidance for young people: Government response

The Government has published their response to the House of Commons Education Committee report entitled 'Careers guidance for young people:Government Response Careers guidance for young people: The impact of the new duty on schools: Government Response to the Committee's Seventh Report of Session 2012-13'.

The response disagrees with a number of recommendations made in the original report for example the recommendations for at least one independent careers interview for each pupil, each school to publish a career plan and the careers England Quality in Careers Standard. Careers England's have released  a publication by Professor Tony Watts 'Careers England Policy Commentary 20: Government Response to Education Select Committee Report' and press notice entitled 'Good intentions are not enough'  which discuss and critique the Government response.
