"By doing the MA I was able to research and write about things I was passionate about" (Masters student)

iCeGS offers a comprehensive range of learning and teaching programmes to support the continuing professional development needs of guidance practitioners, managers and policy makers. iCeGS offers occasional one day events throughout the year on a range of topics of current interest to the guidance community.

More formalised learning opportunities include the Masters in Guidance Programme, PhD level study, and specialised "bespoke" training programmes designed and accredited to meet the needs of specific organisations. The Centre is committed to providing dynamic and innovative solutions to support the varied needs of individuals and organisations who are interested in skills and workforce development, youth policies and adult guidance strategies.

Quote from MA student:

"By doing the MA I was able to research and write about things that I was passionate about - e-guidance, careers education in the HE curriculum, student retention and the role of guidance. I also met some fascinating people - course colleagues and emminent writers within the guidance field. The course helped me to analyse the discourse around policies and initiatives that impact on guidance work - it helped me to think more strategically. For the past five years I have worked with MBA and postgraduate students at Nottingham University Business School. The MA certainly had an impact on my appointment to this role but even now it has a great influence on my work as a guidance practitioner and manager" Julie Blant, Deputy Director Careers Service, University of Nottingham Postgraduate Business School
