Extending Choices to Maximise Chances - Thursday 15 December 2011 - 2.30pm to 4.30pm International Centre for Guidance Studies (iCeGS) 14th Annual Lecture.
This event will be presented by Michael Davis, Chief Executive Officer of UKCES. Michael's lecture will consider the ways in which career guidance can support people to get into and on in work and explore how this can be strengthened. The ways that better use of technology can widen access and provide a blended offer will be considered, along with the potential of effective partnership working to bring greater coherence to a dynamic market.
Michael Davis Biography
Michael Davis is Chief Executive of the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES). Before joining the UK Commission, Michael was the Managing Director of CFE. Michael led CFE from a start up to becoming an
independent, not for profit, national specialist in public policy for skills, employment and economic development. Until recently Michael was also Chairman of Lastolite Ltd, which is the world's leading manufacturer of background and lighting control systems for the photo, video and cinema industry, and Chairman of Leicester College. Michael holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from Lancaster University.
