iCeGS in partnership with the Centre for Education and Industry (CEI) at Warwick University have recently completed a research project called, STEM Careers Awareness Timelines. Attitudes and Ambitions Towards Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths(STEM at Key Stage 3). The research presents key findings from the first stage of the fieldwork carried out as part of the 'STEM careers awareness timelines' project. The careers awareness timelines project has been designed to embed a series of stimulating STEM careers related interventions into Key Stage 3 learning.
The project has involved recruiting and mentoring 28 schools nationally who are planning and delivering their own activities to promote STEM Careers. This occasional paper reports on the findings from year seven and year nine pupils from 26 schools surveyed during the autumn/winter term of 2008. Each of the participating schools have recieved the feedback from their own school alongside the national findings to inform their planning for further activities as part of their timeline projects.
