Icebreakers
Icebreakers are a chance to meet other new students and ask all those last minute questions
We run Icebreaker events for applicants in September, a couple of weeks before students start university. They're really informal and give students and their families the chance to:
- ask any last minute questions about starting at university
- meet our friendly staff and Students' Union team
- meet current students
- get to know other people starting in September, over a drink.
Quotes from students who attended Icebreaker 2011:
"I really enjoyed it, it was very informal and relaxed!"
"I thought it was excellent!"
"My parents thought it was really nice and think that the Family Programme is a brilliant idea!"
"I attended by myself on the day. For me the icebreaker event went far beyond its formal meaning. It was so helpful and has made my induction week more enjoyable as I've already made friends with some of the people I met during the event. The offer of drinks and some nibbles is great. Keep up the good work for future students and thank you."
"The event was a success. It was good to meet people on the same course and to see the facilities - the gym and student bar."
"My family enjoyed the event and thought it was very organised."
