Jade is currently going into her third year of the Theatre Arts course.
» Why did you choose to study Theatre Arts?
It offered a variety of options; the theory and practical sounded the most interesting. The audition was relaxed and didn't make you feel under pressure was another reason.
» What have you enjoyed most about the course?
I enjoyed most of the course throughout the whole year. Each module teaches me something new and I'm always discovering new techniques. I really enjoyed the module of playwriting.
» What have you learned throughout this year?
That University is what you make it. If you work hard you get the results you want.
In terms of study, I also learned a lot about Shakespeare.
» What would you say about the facilities?
Now that the University have taken over the Playhouse the facilities are amazing. Working alongside professionals and getting to view their work are just a few positives of having our own theatre.
» How have you found the lecturers and the support they have given you?
They are easy to confront and have always given their support 110%. Their knowledge is also great and how they can help us in the future.
» What would you say to someone thinking of coming to Derby? Would you recommend the course?
Yes, always, due to our lecturers past history and the amazing opportunities we have that other Universities don't offer.
» What do you think of the student life at Derby?
I don't think there are any places where student life is bad. Derby has a variety of activities to offer us students; shopping, cinema, lazer quest, clubbing, eating out, partying, 5 a side football and many more.
