Holocaust Centre

The Holocaust fieldtrip

The fieldtrips were an innovative way of capturing literature and history in an interesting and often moving way.

As part of the Level Six European Encounters module our students went to Beth Shalom Holocaust Centre in Newark, Nottinghamshire. They visited the extensive exhibition and were lucky enough to be there when John Dobai, a Hungarian survivor of the Holocaust, gave a unique talk about his experiences.

The Holocaust Centre was shortlisted this year in the last three for the title of 'Museum of the Year', out of a possible 26 museums. It is a really interesting day out; you will get to explore the Nazi period exhibition which is there all year round. You can take a peaceful stroll into the memorial rose gardens where you can gather your thoughts and take in the history.

You will learn all about the Holocaust and you will be able to listen to guest speakers, view films and have a look around the book shop or relax in the cafe lounge.

It will be a truly moving experience and a great educational experience. Year after year our students thouroughly enjoy going on this trip.
