Steven Wilcoxson
Steven Wilcoxson is one of our BA (Hons) Creative Writing graduates who has successfully had a book published. It's his first novel and it is called Make Less Strangers, which he has been writing since the age of 18.
Steven said, "It went through many edits and versions before I was happy with it and sent it off to agents and publishers."
"After a lot of hard work and struggle I eventually signed a contract with a publisher when I was 23. However the publishers lost their financial backing and it all fell apart. I then went back to sending out the book to many people until it was accepted by Weathervane press and now it is avaliable to buy."
"The lecturers at the University who assisted, tutored and supported me were Carl Tighe, Moy McCroy, Rhona Jackson and the late Jerry Hope who was my initial inspiration to send the book to be published and I have much to thank for. The University as a whole was very supportive of me."
Steven has six more novels that he is currently editing but are otherwise finished.
