Sonita Alleyne OBE, Chief Executive, Somethin' Else.
18 years ago Sonita founded her digital company creating things millions of people watch, listen to, and play with every day: interactive radio, games, branded content and talent management.
Somethin' Else is the UK's biggest production company, and in digital they're cross platform leaders. In talent they look after major TV and radio names. The company is known for young, spiky programming and has long been an entry point for young creatives going into the digital media production.
Sonita read Philosophy at Cambridge, then helped set up Apples and Snakes Poetry group in London, ran a Jazz promotion company bringing over radical performers like the Art Ensemble of Chicago, then set up a budding production company, which went on to be a major player in the creative industry due to its consistently fresh and youthful, yet saleable approach.
