Our staff are active researchers in their field which means that what you'll be learning will be based on the latest thinking and research. In recent years, they have published on the contemporary West, 9/11 and the War on Terror, American film, youth culture and popular music.
Combine subjects and keep your options open
If you don't want to specialise in one area and want a mix of skills, a joint honours degree could be for you. You can choose to study American Studies with one or two other subjects - there are lots to choose from and they can be subjects from a completely different area, like Psychology.
