REG Terms of Reference

  • To monitor the effectiveness of the Equality and Diversity Policy and Strategy within the University in relation to race equality and to recommend and ensure appropriate action is taken on identified issues
  • To provide a forum for consultation on race equality issues arising from new policies, practices and procedures at the University and nationally
  • To progress and monitor issues and action arising from internal and external audit/reviews relating to race equality
  • To provide a forum to exchange and promote good practice
  • To disseminate information relating to race equality internally to the wider University and the student body
  • To contribute to the design and implementation of staff development in relation to race equality
  • To provide regular reports and recommend actions to the Equality and Diversity Committee
  • To provide a mechanism to voice opinions relating to race and religion for staff and students
  • Review the Terms of Reference and REG Action Plan annually
  • Have an open membership policy and encourage representatives from all Faculties and Departments
  • To promote partnership work with teh local community groups and employers
