LGBT Action Group Terms of Reference
- Assist the University in the development of an Equality Strategy and Action Plan to ensure Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) issues are covered
- Identify areas of concern and good practice to help assess the current University culture in relation to sexuality and diversity
- Provide a forum for staff and students to discuss issues surrounding sexuality at the University
- Investigate ways of improving declarations of LGBT on equality monitoring forms
- Identify improvements that an be made strategically and within staff development to improve the University's approach to sexuality issues
- Identify improvements that can be made strategically and within staff development to improve the University's approach to transgender and transsexual issues
The group will include students, employees and representatives from external organisations (such as Derbyshire Friend) and is not restricted to those who define as LGBT
