"Buxton is great if you'd prefer to live in a quiet place rather than noisey and big cities. I would recommend this course because of its good reputation and it's a worldwide recognised qualification."

Diana is from Bulgaria and is currently studying a masters in international hospitality management.

Getting into management

I decided to study this course to get more experience in hospitality related organisations, and to improve my knowledge of management for my future career.

From Bulgaria to Buxton

I chose to study this course at Buxton because the university has good relations with Bulgarian education companies. Applying was easy and I got lots of support throughout the application process from the International Team.

Feels like home

I live in private accommodation, it's really affordable and there are lots to choose from. I'm still close to the university too. Buxton is a small and friendly place to live and study in.

Lively lectures

I really enjoy the interesting way my lecturers present the material, they are really inspiring and they offer lots of extra support if you need it. The learning resources on the campus are also very useful and easily available.

I've listened to guest speakers from business and events related organisations, giving examples and advice on how to start up your own business, how to developing it and how to be a successful entrepreneur and manager, which was really useful.

Days out

I've been to Thornbridge Brewery in Bakewell, and I also went to Manchester to experience the Chinese New Year celebrations with the International Society which was fantastic.

Getting out and about

The opera house concerts and performances are great and a really good chance for socializing. It's also really close to the cities of Manchester, Sheffield and Derby if you want a bigger shopping experience, eating out and nightlife.

Overall...

I'd definitely recommend studying a masters course at Buxton.
