Fantastic reputation
The University of Derby in Buxton has a reputation as being one of the best choices for this course in the UK and the course lecturers are well known in their subject.
They have worked in the industry and have experience of management in hospitality which they can pass on to students.
A small and friendly place
The main reason that I chose Buxton was to gain valuable experience in a foreign country. I also wanted to make international friends and become more familiar with different cultures. Buxton is a nice place, you have the opportunity to meet local people, and students as well.
In Buxton there are many international students, and it's easy to relate with people. I have never had problems making friends, in Buxton there are a lots of opportunities to mix and meet people and the local people are fantastic and very friendly.
There's also a great opportunity to travel all over the UK because the transport links are quite good. Manchester, Derby and Sheffield are under an hour away from Buxton by train and students can visit to enjoy a day/night out or for shopping.
Working for a better career
I now have a much broader knowledge and experience of Hospitality and Culinary Arts that will be very useful for my career. I have had a lot of help and support from lecturers of the University, and the librarians as well. The lecturers and tutors are honest and very easy to talk to, not just someone who teaches and lectures.
I would definitely recommend the University of Derby in Buxton
I have really enjoyed Buxton and studying here, it has been a great experience for me. I would recommend Hospitality and Professional Culinary arts, and also the University of Derby Buxton as a whole.
