With our fantastic practical facilities including seven industry standard kitchens; training and competition kitchens, with plasma screens above each workstation so you'll get a close up of the techniques being demonstrated; innovative teaching and learning methods and a team of highly skilled hospitality lecturers, we can help you reach your full potential.

Promising careers

The hospitality and food industries are expanding rapidly, so you'll have good employment prospects in a wide range of areas in the UK and overseas when you graduate. These include hotels, restaurants, clubs, pubs, catering, transport and consulting. Graduate Alan Hill has become Chef Patron at The Devonshire Arms on the Chatsworth Estate.

Develop the skills employers are looking for

You'll develop an excellent understanding of the industry, and you'll gain the business awareness, practical skills and creativity that employers are looking for. You'll work on your planning, timing, teamwork and people management skills throughout your course.

Hands on experience

You'll develop your understanding of the needs and issues of your workplace by doing work based learning. We aim to develop you as a leader of the future and will empower you with academic skills and practical experience in our competitions, training kitchens and commercial restaurant.

Supportive tutors

You'll be encouraged to work independently to develop your academic and personal skills and you'll get a personal tutor during your course. And you'll get all the help and support you need to achieve your best from our supportive and friendly tutors through our regular appointment system.

High quality teaching

Our tutors have a wide range of experience in the industry, making sure your course is relevant and up to date. Tutor Robert Stordy reached the 2010 semi-finals of the Craft Guild of Chefs, a national competition and in 2011 became one of the final three competitors in the Linda McCartney meat free dish competition as featured on "This Morning".
