Where you'll study
You can choose to study online, by distance learning, or at taught classes at our Derby or Chesterfield sites.
Our newly refurbished Britannia Mill site
Study at Derby
You could be learning in our state-of-the-art Clinical Skills Suite or our newly refurbished Britannia Mill site.
Study at Chesterfield
You'll be based at our Wharf Lane training facility. We've invested around £400,000 in teaching rooms, IT facilities and staff accommodation here and the new clinical skills room with its specialist equipment provides opportunities for joint working with local NHS and social services.
Study online
Once you enrol you'll gain access to your virtual learning environment. This is an online space where your tutors upload materials for you to work through whilst interacting with fellow students and tutors. Materials include case studies, presentations, videos and other useful resources. You can work through these materials within semester timescales whenever you like - they are there 24/7 so you aren't restricted.
Depending on the module you choose, you may also have interactive lectures using technology similar to that used for webinars or online conferences. Tutors deliver live classes by using webcams and instant messaging, so you'll not only see your tutor and other students, but be able to talk to them and ask questions. If you can't attend a live session, you can access a recording through an archive.
Study by distance learning
You'll receive your learning package by post or email. You'll work through your learning package at your own pace and convenience, within module timescales, gaining support and input from your tutor as required.
Teaching at your workplace
If you are an employer with a group of eight or more health professionals wishing to study a module we can deliver it at your workplace. Contact us to find out more.
