Delivered in our diagnostic imaging suite, X-ray is available as a private service following a request from your GP or healthcare practitioner.
X-rays can be taken of one area with a single or multiple views for a single cost. The X-rays are carried out by our radiographer, Alan Parsons with the results being sent either by film or enhanced secure digital media to your referring healthcare practictioner.
The X-ray appointment is approximately 30-45 minutes and takes place within the Health, Lifestyle and Rehabilitation centre at the University of Derby.
Films can be made available while you wait or immediate digital results if selected.

- Any cancellations must be made within 24 hours of your appointment. If not, you may be required to pay the full amount.
Our X-ray service is led by Radiographer, Alan Parsons.
From lecturing in radiography with specialist interest areas of Osteoporosis, UG radiography, DXA (bone densitometry), Alan has joined our team as a full time service provider for the iDXA service.
Alan has delivered our iDXA services for 11 years servicing both the NHS and elite athletes and has a wealth of experience in both service delivery and service development as the Radiation Protection Supervisor for the University of Derby. Alongside the NHS Alan has worked with a number of elite sporting teams including Team GB for British Athletics, Derby County Football Club, UK Taekwondo, Paralympic athletes, British Superbike riders and a number of competitive bodybuilders.
