Continuing Professional Development and Learning Beyond Registration

Continue your professional development flexibly at the University of Derby - study from home or on campus with different funding options.

One stop for CPD information

If you're seeking to build on your wealth of knowledge as a healthcare professional, we can offer you bespoke modules in a supportive environment. We have modules to suit nurses, occupational therapists, hand therapists, radiographers, psychotherapists, and those working within complementary therapies.

In order to study what best suits your personal and professional needs, you can arrange for an individual consultation to discuss your options.

There are various options for your funding and study:

Continuing Professional Development self-funded modules

We have CPD modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (levels 6, 7 and 8), which have all been tailored to meet the needs of practitioners and managers working within the health and social care sectors. Find out more

Learning Beyond Registration funded modules

For some students, it's possible to access learning beyond registration funding to study with us. Find out more or speak to our dedicated LBR team to see if you are eligible for funding, on 01332 591992 or lbr@derby.ac.uk.

Once we’ve had confirmation from your manager that they are in agreement to release you for module study, your allocation of a place on the module is reliant upon sufficient LBR funding remaining for your organisation.

Online, on-campus and blended study options

Our CPD and LBR offer includes online, distance learning and on-campus modules, so no matter what your preferred learning style or life commitments, you can find a study option that's right for you.
