Learning Beyond Registration
Learning Beyond Registration (LBR) is a vital part of developing competent, capable health service practitioners prepared to deliver a dynamic, flexible, quality, client-focused service. If you're employed by the NHS in the East Midlands then you may be eligible for fee-free access to our LBR modules and/or programmes. You'll need to supply evidence of approval from your line manager and Trust Education Lead when you apply.
About this module
We've developed this practically based module in collaboration with the British Association of Hand Therapists, so that you can demonstrate your experience and competence in practice.
The aim of the module is to promote professional competence within hand therapy, whilst considering the evidence base for specific aspects of practical hand therapy such as technique and modality selection.
You will study mainly by distance learning, plus one week at our Kedleston Road site.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the module you will be able to:
- Develop knowledge and practical skills in various aspects of practical hand therapy.
- Demonstrate clinical reasoning for a variety of treatment techniques/interventions used in the specialist clinical field of hand therapy.
- Critically evaluate the effectiveness of a practical hand therapy intervention.
