Homesickness
Moving away from home can be difficult
Most students suffer from homesickness when they first come to University.
If you or one of your flatmates is finding it difficult to settle in and get on with your other flatmates, it may be because of homesickness.
What you can do
Talk to your flatmates about homesickness. It always helps to share and you'll be amazed at how many people will be feeling the same way.
Give it a little time, homesickness usually passes after a short period.
Don’t be too hard on yourself or others if University life doesn’t seem to suit you straight away.
Talk to your hall manager
Book a free session with one of our counsellors. It usually helps to share your feelings in confidence.
