Arriving in September
Most people move into halls during Welcome Weekend . In 2013 Welcome Weekend will be on the Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September.
Don't worry if you can't move in during that weekend - it's easy enough to make alternative arrangements.
Moving into halls before or after Welcome WeekendMoving into halls in Derby
- If your surname begins with A - M you'll need to arrive on the Saturday of Welcome Weekend.
- If your surname begins with N - Z you'll need to arrive on the Sunday of Welcome Weekend.
You will need to go to the University at Kedleston Road before moving into halls, our staff will be on hand to answer any questions you or your family may have.
Your family will also have the chance to join our Family Programme, so they can keep in touch with what's happening at Derby through regular newsletters and updates.
Moving into halls in Buxton
For those at High Peak Halls:
- If your surname begins with A - M you'll need to arrive on the Saturday of Welcome Weekend.
- If your surname begins with N - Z you'll need to arrive on the Sunday of Welcome Weekend.
Car parking
There's limited car parking at each of our halls and they tend to get very busy when everyone's arriving. So you'll only be able to leave your car on site while you unpack. Don't worry though, there are plenty of car parks nearby. And there's metered street parking near most of our halls, where you can usually stay for up to four hours
If you're arriving on Saturday and have been allocated a car parking permit we ask you to park your car off site on Sunday between 10am and 6pm, so that people arriving on Sunday can unpack.
