What is Student Switch Off?
The Student Switch Off rewards the hall of residence which saves the most energy by the end of the year with a massive Ben and Jerry's party. On top of this you can bag prizes all for yourselves (and your flatmates if you like sharing!) by submitting an energy-saving themed photo in the facebook competitions that run every few weeks.
How do you make your hall win?
Easy - pledge to take simple energy saving actions:
- switching off lights and appliances
- putting a lid on pans when cooking
- only filling the kettle with the water needed
- putting on an extra layer rather than turning up the heating
Collectively these small energy saving actions add up to big energy savings.
