Recycling

Recycling outside halls

On average every person in the UK throws away their own body weight in rubbish every seven weeks

Use the heavy duty recycling bags in your kitchen and when they are full please empty them into the recycling bins outside your hall.

The bins take:

  • card
  • all types of paper
  • all types of plastic
  • polythene like carrier bags etc
  • food and drinks cans
  • glass

Please use the black bin bags we provide for general waste.

Supporting local charities

Some halls have charity collection bins for unwanted clothes and bric-a-brac. We also run an end of year Moving Out campaign where we distribute charity bags for your unwanted items.

Battery recycling

All of our halls now have battery recycling where all types of portable sealed batteries are accepted. Take a look at BatteryBack to see what happens to your recycled batteries and the different schemes they run to get everyone more involved in battery recycling.
