The information below relates to our Buxton Awards Ceremony to be held on Saturday 12 November 2016 at the Dome in Buxon
There are plenty of hotels and guest houses in the area if you wish to stay overnight - we recommend you book well in advance. For more information contact Buxton Tourist Information Centre on 01298 25106.
Each student is allocated up to two guest tickets to purchase. You can register an interest in additional tickets when you respond to your invitation - simply ensure that you enter the number of tickets you're interested in purchasing in the box on the ticket ordering form. We strongly recommend that you don't pay for travel and accommodation for people that you have not secured tickets for. We won't admit anyone without a ticket to the ceremony or the church.
If you've registered an interest in extra tickets you'll be contacted by email to advise you of any availability we may have once the ticket deadline has passed (13th October 2016). We are anticipating that we will be in a position to advise about the availability of extra tickets in the week commencing 17 October 2016. We are not anticipating having any availablility of additional tickets.

The Career Development Centre gives recent graduates free careers advice and help with interview techniques, CV writing and completion of application forms. This is available for all University of Derby graduates for up to three years after completion of their studies.
If you're attending the awards ceremony you'll be presented with your certificate as part of the ceremony.
If you're unable to attend the awards ceremony your certificate will be posted to you after the ceremony has taken place. We'll post your award to the mailing address we hold for you on our systems. You can update your address via UDo or you can notify us by email at email@example.com

We suggest that small children don't attend the ceremony as it's a formal occasion and they can become restless. If you're bringing a child, you'll need a guest ticket for those aged three and over. Children under three can be accommodated on an adults knee. There are no concessionary tickets available.
On the morning of the ceremony a non-denominational service of thanksgiving is held at St Anne's Church. This is an opportunity to reflect on, and give thanks for your time at the University.
Please note: We make no assumption that you or your guests wish to attend this service. You need to book tickets for this event when you place your order for your Award Ceremony tickets. Tickets are free of charge, however, space in the church is limited and so tickets are issued on a first come first served basis.
An announcement will be made within the Dome to notify those attending that they need to make their way to the church in time for the start of the service. The service will be followed by a ceremonial procession back to the Devonshire Campus for the Awards Ceremony. Those who are not attending the church service are welcome to remain in the Dome during this period.

A range of commemorative t shirts and hoodies will be on sale at the ceremony. After the ceremony you'll be able to purchase these items from Campus Clothing
We produce a programme for the day which includes the names of all the 2016 graduands.
Graduands names will also appear on commemorative T shirts and in local newspaper supplements.
Graduands can request that their name is withheld from these items by emailing us before 17 October 2016 at firstname.lastname@example.org

If you or your guests have any special need or disability we will endeavor to make arrangements to accommodate them. We can arrange on campus car parking for blue badge holders. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss any requirements you or your guests may have.
We request that you and your guests dress smartly. It is suggested that graduands wear a front buttoning blouse, shirt or jacket, in order that the hood of the gown can be easily attached. The gowns are predominantly black and trimmed in light blue and red.
DVD and Webstreaming
On the day we will be streaming the ceremony live via our website. DVDs and blue ray discs of the ceremony will be available to purchase on the day of the ceremony. You can pre-order here.
Wearing a gown is not compulsory however most graduands do decide to hire academic dress as they feel it adds to the sense of occasion. These items are available to hire from Ede and Ravenscroft. You can order on line at www.gownhire.co.uk. Please ensure you have your head circumference, chest and height measurements available when you place an order. In addition you'll need to supply them with your student number and they'll ensure that you are allocated the corect gown for the level of your award (eg. BA (Hons) Hospitality Management or MA Tourism).
Online orders benefit from an automatic discount applied at point of purchase. You can hire on the day, but will be charged a premium price for this.
After the ceremony we offer a two course buffet lunch served with a drink of your choice (which includes a selection of wines chosen to compliment the dishes on offer). The lunch is prepared by our students using only the finest seasonal ingredients and comprises an imaginative display of contemporary seafood, served with a hot buffet of traditional classic European dishes, followed by a display of classic individually served desserts.
Lunch tickets are priced at £11.00 per head and should be ordered with your Award Ceremony tickets. We can accommodate special dietary requirements - please state these when placing an order for tickets. Unfortunatly lunch tickets can't be purchased on the day. Lunch tickets should only be purchased for those with a ceremony ticket. Below is a typical menu
Hot Buffet option
- Saute fillet stroganoff with pilaf coriander scented rice
- Chicken Jambalaya with Moroccan spices
- Winter vegetable tagine with chermoula
- Fresh water salmon goujons hand breaded with a mint and watercress mayonnaise
- Crushed new potatoes in minted butter
- Brocolli, carrot and cabbage bouquetiere
Cold Buffet option
- Smorgasbord - a decorated selection of seafoods including salmon roulade, home oak-smoked mackerel and trout, piri-piri mediterranean prawns and tuna carcaccio
- Selection of miniature desserts reflecting the season and student favourites
Your invitation will be sent in the week commencing 12 September 2016 to your unimail and any other active email address we have on record for you, so please make sure we have your up to date email address. Please check your spam folder if you've not received your invitation.

If you are unable to attend please let us know and ensure you update your mailing address, so we can post your certificate to you after the ceremonies have taken place.
The postcode of the Dome is SK17 6RY. Roadside and metered parking is available close to the Dome. We can arrange on-campus parking for registered blue badge holders. Please let us know when you book your tickets if you need this facility, you can contact us by email at email@example.com
Photographs can be pre-ordered from the Ede & Ravenscroft website. You can also order on the day of the ceremony. Ede and Ravenscroft photography studios will be located within the Dome. The studios are open before the ceremony commences and will open again after the ceremony has concluded. Photography will close at 2.30 pm. Additional people can be admitted to the Dome at the conclusion of the ceremony for the purpose of allowing group photographs to be taken.
Please note if you have pre-ordered your photographs you need to print off your photography order card, which will have been emailed to you and bring this with you on the day.

Graduands need to register with us when they arrive at the Dome on the day. This process ensures that graduands names are announced when they cross the stage and they occupy their allocated seat to reflect the order of presentation.
Tea and coffee will be served when you arrive at the Devonshire Campus, between 8.45am and 10.15am.
Graduands are seated separately to guests.
Graduands will be allocated a seat number and row when they register. This seat will reflect the order of presentation of graduands. Our ushers (wearing maroon gowns) will help you find your correct seat.
Guest seating is unreserved.
Graduands tickets are free of charge. Guest ticket allocation is two per graduand these are priced at £13.00 each. Church Service tickets are free of charge but do need to be booked. Optional Lunch tickets are priced at £11.00 each.
When you make a purchase an automatic confirmation of your payment will be emailed to the email address that you have entered on the ticket order form.
Extra tickets - please note: We strongly advise against making travel arrangements for guests on the assumption that extra tickets will be available, we are not anticipating we'll be able to supply ANY additional tickets. There is no admittance to the ceremony or church without a ticket. Please see the Additional Ticket section at the top of this page for further information.
If you have a UK address your tickets will be posted to you in late October.
If you are an overseas student and have an overseas mailing address your tickets will be available for you to collect on the day at the door.
We are unable to refund purchased tickets after 14 October 2016

Please see our Ceremony Itinerary for details. You don't have to arrive when the doors of the Dome open but please allow sufficient time for your journey, registration and for collection of your gown and formal photographs.
