Research plays a major role in supporting the teaching and learning across the University. We have 11 research centres and research groups where communities of research staff and students share the results of their work.
In addition we have a number of research services which may be contracted for consultancy or research projects. There are over 120 postgraduate research (PGR) students undertaking training in research and aiming to complete a thesis for a higher degree. Between 20 and 30 PGR students gain the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy each year.
