Handling requests for information
If you are contacted directly by an individual requiring information - either face-to-face, or on the telephone - please ask them to contact the Freedom of Information team on ext. 2151 or email firstname.lastname@example.org .
If you are contacted in writing by an individual requiring information, then you should immediately treat this as a Freedom of Information request and act as set out above.
NB. If your role involves distributing information on request in any case (eg if you're involved in sending out University prospectus) then you should continue to deal with these requests as normal (but please note that the law now strongly requires that you respond within 20 working days).
