The University Of Derby in conjunction with the UDSU is proud to present the 2010 Fairtrade Fashion Show- 'Green Is the New Black' on Tuesday 2nd March 2010 in The Academy at Kedleston Road. Doors open at 7 pm and the show starts at 7.30 until 9.30 pm.

During the breaks we can expect a showing of the Environmental Justice Foundation's short film- White Gold and a performance from the UDSU Pole Dance Society- the Treefrogs- were they say, 'Pants to Poverty'.

In support of the UDSU Women's Campaign we will be ensuring that all modelling for this fashion show has a Positive Body Image in mind. Our models will be men and women student volunteers.

Our mission

To raise awareness about the difference that fairtrade makes to so many people all over the world and to encourage students to swap at least one product for a fairtrade alternative. We also aim to show that fairtrade fashion can also be high fashion!

Products to purchase on the night

Clothes ranging from high street fashion to high fashion and a range of fairtrade accessories from local fairtrade shops will be available for purchase on the night. We're also hoping to have a selection of other fairtrade goods to be available for purchase in a mini market in the Union Quarter outside of The Academy at the end of the show.

Tickets

Tickets will be on sale shortly for £3 and will be available from the UDSU reception and from volunteers during Fairtrade Fortnight in the atrium. Please check this page regularly for updates on ticket availability or follow us on facebook- http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/Fairtradefashion2010
