JISC Enrolment Project

JISC enrolment project

Welcome to the JISC Enrolment Project - our shorthand title, the full title of the project was Development and Enhancement Review of Business Interfaces (DERBI).

The project ran from 29 June 2009 to 30 April 2010 and was being funded by JISC under their Student Lifecycle Relationship Management umbrella. In these 10 months we reviewed the student experience of the enrolment process here at the University of Derby.

We didn't underestimate this task - modes of study at Derby run into double figures and we attract a very diverse student body. Given that processes which could affect the efficiency and effectiveness of enrolment begin months before any students even enrol on a programme, there were a lot of potential potholes. However, we started from the perspective that relationships are all about the student, not the system.

Service Design session

In December 2009 we invited members from other JISC projects around the country to come to Derby for a training session around service design principles.

For more information from this event, including presentations from the day, please go to the Service Design session page.
