Examinations
Examination periods
There are recognised examination periods in the University during which the majority of examinations take place. There are a few programmes that hold their examinations at other times. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that they are available for examinations during these periods, or on any other dates specified by their programme team. The standard examination periods are as follows:
- Autumn semester first sit examinations - these usually take place in early January
- Spring semester first sit examinations - these usually take place in mid-May/early June Any students who have an examination referred or deferred from the Autumn semester first sit examinations will take their referral or deferral during this period
- August resits - for examinations referred or deferred from the Spring semester first sit examinations
Actual dates of examination periods are available from the start of each academic year
