All written assignments are handed in electronically through a system called Turnitin. To find out more about this, please take a look at the video below.

If you need to submit your assignment electronically please follow the steps below. If not, please visit our how to submit assignments on campus page. If you're not sure, speak to your lecturer.

» Step 1 - Deadlines and managing your time

» Step 2 - Format, file details and converting to PDF

» Step 3 - Uploading your assignment

» Step 4 - Check your Originality Report

» Step 5 - Accessing your feedback

What happens if the system is down?

  • If the system is down, we'll be aware of this and communicate to you via UDo, Unimail and on this web page. It's okay to then stop attempting to submit your work. We'll let you know when you can submit again in through the same channels.
  • Once the system is back online you can start submitting and an appropriate extension will be given.
  • For a step by step guide on what you should do if you think the system is down, take a look at this diagram.
  • If you experience problems and you've not received official notification that the system is down contact an IT helpdesk for support or our IT Advisers.

What to do if you need support

  • There is a dedicated phone number 01332 593782 that you can call which will have a recorded message explaining if there is an issue with the system or not.
  • If you're having difficulties submitting, contact one of the IT helpdesks situated in the library or our IT advisers. Trained staff will be on hand to deal with your query. You can also visit our frequently asked questions page which has answers to some of the most common queries about esubmission.
  • If for any reason you're having difficulty submitting online, contact your lecturer to seek additional support.
  • If you find yourself unable to complete an assessment or are faced with circumstances beyond your control that negatively impact on an assessment, you'll need to submit a claim for exceptional extenuating circumstances (EEC)

Details of the regulations and your responsibilities can be found on our regulations pages. We use TurnitinUK for esubmitting assignments. Details of how TurnitinUK use your data can be found on our conditions page.
