Violent crime is unheard of here at the University of Derby and it is our intention that this remains the case. Because you will be more vulnerable when working alone or in an isolated location, not only from crime but also from accident or illness we ask that you help us to care for you by following these simple guidelines.
This procedure should apply whenever you work alone, whether pre-planned or not any time out of normal working hours (approx 9am-5pm) and at weekends
As soon as you enter the building come to Security reception where we will ask you to complete a simple signing in sheet which will enable us to be aware of who is on site, and to periodically check on their welfare.
If you start the day intending to leave at the normal time but find that you have to stay later than anticipated and will be working alone please contact us on one of the following numbers:
