Even the layout of the computing rooms is modelled on industry. You can hone your skills in games programming studios supported by Microsoft and Nintendo, a dedicated CISCO networks laboratory, a computer forensic lab and general computing labs. As a Microsoft IT Academy, we offer official Microsoft training and exams at a discounted rate, plus access to online resources and professional tools.

Showcase your skills
You could find yourself promoting your work at our degree shows or taking part in high profile events like our Computer Games Expo. You could also join the impressive number of Derby students who win top awards in regional, national and international competitions. Each year we hold public events with industry to showcase the work of undergraduate students on our courses. Along with prospective students and members of the public, industry professionals are invited to the event, so it’s a fantastic opportunity to network with employers.
The Big Show
The Big Show is the University end of year Undergraduate Degree Show for students involving a series of live events and exhibitions across the city of Derby. Our Computer Games students showcase their work at our Kedleston Road and Markeaton Street site. The Degree show offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the very best of emerging contemporary art and design practice from our final year students. Their work explores the issues and subjects of today's world also looks ahead predicting and setting the trends of tomorrow.
