Applicant Days

Markeaton Street Site Applicant Days are a great way of experiencing what it's like to study in the College of Engineering and Technology

Welcome to the College of Engineering and Technology

Visiting us here at Derby is the best way to get an impression of what it feels like to be part of our student community. You may have already visited us at an Open Day but Applicant Days are different. They are ‘invitation only’ (you need to be holding an offer to study with us) and they provide a chance to actually experience your subject in real detail.

You’ll meet the teaching staff on your chosen course and other applicants who have applied for your course. It’s a great way to make new friends before your course starts and to ask those last minute questions about life at Derby.

This is a VIP day where you can meet current students, tour our facilities and visit student accommodation.

Applicant Days are great fun and extremely popular so don’t miss out. Places are limited and offered on a first come first served basis so we recommend that you book on as soon as you can.

What to do next

We have a selection of dates available for each course - these are mostly on Saturdays but we also have a midweek Applicant Day available.

Just head over to our booking page where you will be able to select your course and then a date that suits you.

We have a schedule of the taster sessions avalaible, click here to find out more.

This is your day; it’s been designed to ensure students get the best possible experience, however we understand that you may wish to bring guests/parents. That’s fine - but please limit the number of guests to two. This will help with congestion!

Guests will be well catered for. We’re running a special programme of talks and tours to keep them entertained and informed, including a free coach trip into the centre of Derby.
