Chesterfield
Welcome to our Chesterfield Campus
Come and see us
Open days are a great way to find out about starting a course at university and what university life is like. You'll also be able to have a look at our facilities, and speak to academics and current students about the course you're interested in.
Please note that we only offer adult nursing at Chesterfield, so if you're interested in mental health nursing please book onto one of our general open days at Derby.
Our Chesterfield Campus provides you with a modern, friendly and supportive learning environment and offers you the opportunity to study the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing degree and the Mentoring in Practice module.
Up to date facilities
We've invested around £400,000 in teaching rooms, clinical skills facilities and IT facilities providing you with comfortable surroundings and the latest equipment.
We have a full IT suite, a virtual classroom and state of the art clinical skills facilities. There is also a vibrant on site cafeteria. Get a more in depth look at Chesterfield with our campus video.
Our local working relationships give you the opportunity to network with local hospitals and professional bodies and you can be sure that our training meets local needs.
Local working relationships
The Campus provides us with exciting opportunities to build on working relationships with Chesterfield Royal Infirmary, Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust and Chesterfield College. Our clinical skills room with its specialist equipment provides opportunities for joint working with local NHS and social services.
This benefits you with:
- Local networking opportunities.
- Courses that are up to date with clinical best practice.
- Training that meets local needs.
A short walk from the historic market town of Chesterfield
Chesterfield is the largest town in Derbyshire and is located on the edge of the Peak District. It has lots to offer with shopping, leisure and history and boasts one of the largest open air markets in the area. The town centre with its diverse mix of amenities is only a few minutes walk away.
What our students say
"I've loved everything about this course, it's all been great. It's very challenging but the support you get from everyone here is so good. Because it's a small site everyone interacts with everyone and knows who you are. When you come in each day, everyone speaks to you and I really value that."
Yvonne Guy, Advanced Diploma in Nursing Studies
