Arriving in January
Welcome to our new students starting in January and welcome back to our returning students!
Don't miss out on your induction session!
You'll need to confirm your enrolment in order to recieve your ID card and to release your loan payments.
When do I need to arrive?
Your course starts with an induction session and it's really important that you attend. We will plan a series of activities for you to welcome you to the University and help you settle in. You'll also find out everything you need to know for the year ahead and meet your lecturers and fellow students.
When you arrive for your induction session, you should have already enrolled online. As part of your induction session, you'll also need to Confirm your Enrolment where you will become an official student.
Please note: Even if you have already enrolled online, you will still need to attend your induction session as this will complete the enrolment process.
How long will my induction last?
If you are studying a full time course then your induction will normally last from the start date specified until the end of that week. For part time courses and for some of our full time courses, you only need to attend an induction session for one day or an evening.
What is the enrolment process?
There are two stages to the enrolment process:
- Enrolment - you do this online once you've received your 'Invitation to Enrol' email. If you haven't enrolled online before you arrive for your induction session, then don't worry as you'll have the opportunity to do this during your induction sessions.
- Confirmation of Enrolment - this will take place during your induction sessions and you MUST attend even if you have enrolled online. This will activate your enrolment so that you can become an official student where you'll collect your ID card and access the University facilities and services.
If you have arranged to recieve a student loan, completing the enrolment process will mean you can start to recieve you loan payments. It also releases any bursary payments you may be eligible to.
Struggling to find your way around?
We know that finding your way around can be quite daunting when you first arrive, so please take a look at these maps and foorplans that will help you until you've settled in.
What if I need help?
We will have our faculty stand in the Atrium during the Induction Week. If you have any queries regarding your induction or about the University, just pop along and see us or ask at the main reception and we'll be able to point you in the right direction.
