I had the best years of my life at University, learning to live on my own, grow up as an individual as well as developing team working and individual working skills.

Study a subject in more depth

With 50,000 different courses to choose from, you can continue studying a subject that you enjoyed at school and learn about it in more depth. Or you might want to study something new, like zoology, spa management or motorsport technology.

Gain qualifications that will help you start a promising career

For some careers you'll need to have a degree - if you want to be a doctor, dentist, lawyer or teacher, for example. You may also be expected to have a degree for more highly paid jobs in other areas such as management, marketing or banking.

For the university experience

Learn to be independent, budget your money, live on your own, meet people from different backgrounds and cultures, make new friends and get involved in the big social scene.

At Derby, you can also study part time, online or as part of your job. So you don't have to be a full time student coming to lectures on campus every day to have the university experience.
