Collaborative project

This module provided our stage four students with the opportunity to work collaboratively with their peers and a Museum practitioner from the Derwent Valley World Heritage Sites.

Together they planned, implemented and evaluated a project relating to good practice when learning and teaching beyond the classroom. Our students also had to plan for the trial of their resources with a class of children.

This project provided further opportunity to develop their understanding of the Primary National Curriculum and the importance of learning beyond the classroom environment.

What our students say:

  • "A very valuable experience."
  • "Helped us prepare for the benefits and challenges of collaboration in the workplace."
  • "This module was very worthwhile; carrying out the museum activity alongside the theory really developed my understanding."
  • "Collaborative Project stressful; especially towards the end as it is over an extended period of time, but I learned so much."
  • "I loved working with the museum. I truly valued the experience."
