Tristram Hooley Inaugural Lecture
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery: Self-actualisation, social justice and the politics of career education.
On Thursday 17 September, we were thrilled to host the Inaugural Lecture of our Professor of Career Education, Tristram Hooley.
With more than a few references to the lyrics of Bob Marley, Professor Hooley delivered his lecture: Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery: Self-actualisation, social justice and the politics of career education.
Professor Hooley was introduction by University Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Fiona Shelton, followed the lecture.l, and a Vote of Thanks from College of Education Head of Professional Studies,
With over a hundred people in attendance, Tristram’s lecture was well received and arose some great debate, in particular about the role of schools in career education.
Don't worry if you missed the lecture, Professor Hooley has kindly made his final published paper and video of the lecture available via his blog.
