Why Derby?
Upon visiting Derby University for the first time it was clear to me where I would be spending the next three years of my life. Derby grasped me instantly as a cosy but vibrant, friendly yet interesting city. I have met and made many good friends in my time here.
The whole Derby experience, from the uni, to the local life is really where I have found my place. As well as enjoying the experiences of city life there is also the opportunity of a much more rural lifestyle just on the doorstep.
The course
This course, as well as being extremely useful and relevant to prospective teachers is also one in which offers me different potential directions, which is a massive plus when looking into a degree qualification.
The team on this course are extremely friendly, approachable and very helpful whenever assistance is needed and the sense that they are there for every step is evident. The passion they provide is a credit to the university and its students.
The course offers exciting and alternative methods to assessment and learning experiences, which differs from many other courses.
The flexibility in module choice was a major selling point with the option of modules such as placement modules, whereby the student chooses what type and were they fulfil their placement.
The experience
The university itself offered me extremely exciting opportunities to engage in two things I really love. Rugby and Cricket. In my time here I have had the opportunity to represent the University 1st teams in both respective sports and even had the opportunity in captaining the sides. My experience has been one in which I have thoroughly enjoyed and I actively encourage any potential student to apply here.
