Nigel Playdon - Education Studies (Joint Honours)
"One of the advantages of studying Education Studies (Joint Honours) are the transferable skills that can be utilised, allowing a different thought process and creating more lateral thinking. Linking psychology with education studies has allowed for a deeper understanding of educational environments and children's cognitive approaches within these.
Teaching and learning is about relationships, interaction and getting your message understood. Psychology helps with the process of developing an appreciation of cognition in children and to facilitate a better transference of the learning process.
Mature learning at this level is an exciting and stimulating process that is an engaging and addictive experience. I am able to pursue my passion for an education career whilst gaining an understanding of children's development throughout psychology.
Studying two subjects simultaneously can create differing angles of thought offering refreshing diversity to the learning. It also greatly enhances your reading areas and provides a wealth of accessible and transferable knowledge."
