BA (Hons) Child and Youth Studies is a practical, work-based course that allows you to gain hands-on experience of working with children and young people aged between 0-19 years.
Child and Youth Studies provides you with the opportunity to:
- gain valuable real world experience by undertaking a placement two days each week
- develop practical skills in areas such as First Aid, Makaton, and Safeguarding. These additional qualifications will enhance your employability
- study abroad as part of our Erasmus exchange scheme.
Where will it take you?
100% of our Child and Youth Studies graduates were in work or further study within six months of completing this course.
Child and Youth Studies opens up routes into social work, where you will support young people in various educational settings. If you want to become a teacher, you can go on to our PGCE Primary course. If you’re interested in leading the Foundation Curriculum, you can apply to study PG Cert Early Years with Early Years Teacher Status (0-5).
Previous graduates have gone on to enjoy careers as Inclusion Officers, Pastoral Managers, Toddler Group Managers, Learning Mentors, and Learning Support Practitioners.
