Children’s experiences during their early years create the foundations of who they become. As they grow into young people, their environment, education and relationships will shape their lives. Our expert teaching team will help you to understand how to positively impact on the futures of 0-19 year olds.

  • Gain hands-on experience on a practical, work-based course that has been developed with employers in the sector. You’ll spend two days per week on placement from the start of the course, in variety of settings
  • Develop practical skills in areas such as First Aid, Makaton (sign language) and Safeguarding. These additional qualifications will enhance your employability.
  • Enjoy the opportunity to explore international education by studying abroad. In the past, students have travelled to Amsterdam and Budapest.

100% of our Child and Youth graduates were in work or further study within six months of completing this course. 

This course offers graduates a route into roles as learning mentors, behavioural inclusion, supporting students with SEN, as family intervention officers, and pastoral care of students in education settings. Past graduates have gone on to enjoy careers as teaching assistants, inclusion officers, nursery managers, and learning support practitioners.
